The company was founded in 1972 by Ray Mellor and Peter Ellis, both former employees of Smiths Watches, a British watch company. The company was initially called Smiths Military Watches, but later changed its name to Cabot Watch Company (CWC).

CWC's first contract was with the British military, which needed a new watch for its troops. CWC designed a watch based on the military's specifications, which included a stainless steel case, a black dial with white numerals, and a mechanical movement. The watch was named the "General Service Watch" and became a standard issue for the British armed forces.

Over the years, CWC continued to supply watches to the British military, as well as other organizations such as the Royal Hong Kong Police and the Sultan of Oman's Armed Forces.

-Hands and markers are in good condition, all have matching patina. Arrow has small mark.
