The Grand Seiko brand was officially launched in 1960. The goal was to create the most precise and durable watch in Japan. The first Grand Seiko watch, the "Grand Seiko First," was equipped with the manual-winding "Caliber 3180" and was highly accurate.

This particular model known as the '45GS' features the caliber 4520A (no complication) with a high-beat movement, which operates at 36,000 vibrations per hour.
